Dad's First Bottle

Here's dad's first bottle feeding. The doctors say to wait 4-6 weeks to introduce a bottle. We waited two. She's doing great with it and so is Mikey!
Here you can see how much she's eating...isn't she growing fast? She officially weighs 10 lbs now and is 22 inches long! She gained 1 pound and 1 inch in less than 2 weeks!

Fun with Mom and Dad

Mom and dad are really getting the hang of things. We even made it to a 1st bday party for our friend Aiden.
Dad loves the Baby Bjorn - makes multi tasking helpful. Kaelyn sure likes to be held all the time ;-)
She's been sleeping 5-6 hours at a time once per night so the bags under our eyes are a little less this week.

Visitors for a very popular girl!

Kaelyn has had about one visitor every day since coming home from the hospital. She's very loved and her mommy and daddy appreciate the extra pairs of arms and of course - the food!!

Stacy got some happy baby time!

Cousin Karen is an expert at keeping Kaelyn happy and quiet! Of course, Kingston loved seeing her but was sad the visit wasn't exclusively for him...

Mommy's friend Karen came to visit - with presents and treats for Kingston and Fremont too!

Aldo came and again made the dog very happy!

And posed for a quick photo with the baby.

A visit from Shari!

And finally - grandma and grandpa Rippy arrive!

1st Halloween

Thanks to photographer Auntie Marlene, we actually have some photos of our first days at home and of our little Halloween Pumpkin. The mommy photographer has been dying to take photos but is so wiped out she hasn't been able to!

Here's the whole Weil family. Turns out Kingston is quite proud to have a new baby to look out for - he likes to show off his presence in photos now! And while we sit and hold the baby, he is always sure to be laying on our feet.

Here's Kaelyn and her official Halloween Black Cat Mr. Fremontster. He has really taken to her. At first we were a little worried - he seemed a little jealous. But we've given him lots of attention and his favorite thing to do is sit on a stool next to us during feeding time - even in the middle of the night! He likes to come up and look at her. So cute ;-)

Details and Visitors

Sweet sleeping Kaelyn. Here's a photo that shows off her pretty fingers!

Here's that head of hair. You can see it's a little lighter than most of the photos show.

Look how strong her neck is. She can lift it and look at you in the face while you're holding her! Amazing...

Who sees Mikey in those eyes? I think she's all Mike ;-)

Cousin Delilah came for a visit. She's looking forward to spoiling Kaelyn with many fun clothes!

Kaelyn's super special Great Auntie Phyllis made her this quilt. It is gorgeous and will be a treasure to cherish forever. Thank you Aunt Phyllis. What a lot of work to create something so beautiful!

First Bath

Auntie Marlene showed up on day 5 and was again - a total lifesaver. She allowed us to get so much sleep and was super helpful with our adjustment to being home. She cooked, did laundry, and I don't think she ever put the baby down!
We had a doctor's visit on Oct 30th and we learned that Kaelyn has officially gained most of her weight back. When we left the hospital on Sunday, she was 8lb 10 oz. On Tuesday she was back up to 9lbs. She's a good eater! So we can now let her sleep longer thru the night and not worry about whether she's getting enough food. Apparently this usually takes at least another week for most babies. YAY!
Isn't her Winnie the Pooh bath bag cute??

Going Home

Mom couldn,t be more ready to go home!

Dad packed her into her carseat for her first ride home. She slept the whole way!

Here's her special princess going home outfit!
