Chronicles of a swimmer

Well, if Kaelyn wasn't a bleach blonde to begin with, she is now. She's definitely hit the bottle...of chlorine that is! I think in the past 6 weeks, we've been in the pool 4-5 days a week. Sometimes more. She LOVES swimming and has just amazed us with her proficiency. The minute we put the floatie suit on (daddy calls it "sponge bob square boobs") she just took off. Sh had really wanted the independence and now she has it! She swims on her own all the time - jumping in and then swimming all the way across the pool. Here are some fun shots of all her swimming adventures.

Kaelyn's main summer swim buddy was, of course, Samantha!

Goofing off with Aunty Mee Mee and A-guy...

A summer would not be complete without some pool time for Kdogger in Gramma and Papa's pool. Oh did he swim. And swim and swim and swim. He especially likes to try to "save" people who jump in. Of course, he's a clumsy rescuer with those claws... but he gives it his best shot. With temperatures in the 90's he didn't want to do much else besides swim. And with their puppy Reny constantly trying to get him to play, he was happy to have some alone time with the peeps in the pool!

Even Mair's three kids (Josh, Carter, and Jathan) had fun in Gamma Ruth and Papa Charles' pool. Josh just loved swimming with Kingston. He always asks if they can see Kingston again - he loves that dog!

Summertime is for friends and family!

We've had such a slew of visitors this summer. Mee mee and A-guy bookended Samantha's 5 week stay. Stephanie came the last week that Samantha was here to do a surf camp. Then we went north for the weekend for Carly's birthday and a visit to some friends. Wow - lots of people! Here are a few memorable pix...
Here Kaelyn enjoys singing the Happy To You song and a cupcake (Stephanie and Samantha enjoyed making the cupcakes) with A-guy for his birthday. She has a special affinity to A-guy - but then again she's always had a gravitational pull to the boys...uh oh! She is wearing her super cute "mu mu" (as she calls it) from her Aunty Jen, Stephanie, Carly and Uncle Matt from their recent trip to Hawaii.

A memento of our fun summer together (you can't really tell but I had just cut Samantha's hair and it turned out really cute!). I don't know if I mentioned this before but when Samantha first got here we went to the grocery store with Kaelyn and the checker said "wow - quite an age difference in your kids." I thought it was pretty funny...but the three of us do share some similarities!!

Enjoying time with Stephanie...

With her buddy JJ - Jathan - who was born two weeks before her. This time she didn't even try to beat him up.

A quick breakfast with friend Kayla - they wouldn't really cooperate for the picture so this is the best I got...

Showing her independence walking across the street with dad!

Dreaming of Paris

I just love this Paris dress I found for Kaelyn last year and she wore it for our annivesary dinner this year. I think it may be her official 2 year birthday dress so I might be spoiling the unique factor - but I couldn't resist. It's too cute and she looks so girly ;-)

Happy Anniversary

Wow - 7 years! We celebrated our Anniversary in July and Kaelyn and Samantha helped us! We ate out at a pizzeria (just to get out of making dinner) since Mike and I were able to getaway to Morro Bay while Aunty Mee Mee came to town the weekend after our annivesary. What a great anniversary week. We can't thank Auntie Mee Mee, Samantha and Aaron for allowing us to run away for a couple days while knowing little K-K was in good hands!

Mid-Summer Photo Shoot

Auntie Joyce sent this too cute summer dress for Kaelyn so I did a mini-photo shoot to try to get some good shots of her. We had fun.

Riding in Style

Kaelyn does a pretty good job of riding in the car without too much complaining. But I recently decided to invest in a couple new car toys - we got a much appreciated doodle pad (since she LOVES drawing so much) and a piano. Now she really likes the car rides!

The funny thing is that she really likes to listen to music in the car and she even is quite the backseat driver...telling us which song is okay and which one is not! She'll say Uh uh (for no) and get really upset if she doesn't like the song. If she likes the song she says "yes." And then when that song is over, she gets upset and says "more more"...and just does not understand why we can't listen to that song again. Makes me want to go get the album for some of her favorite songs... but then I guess we'd never have variety again, right?

Spidie Spin

Gramma Ruth bought Kaelyn this fun Sit and Spin for Christmas. We had it in the family room for a while but she never really used it. I put it in the garage for a while, figuring she wasn't old enough yet. She re-discovered it since she's been doing so much chalk drawing on the driveway and in the garage. Since it's on the concrete she can actually use it and has so much fun.

One day she took her babies out of the car and put them on the sit and spin. It was too cute!

Here is a random pic of Kaelyn with a bow - she doesn't keep them in which is why her hair is always down...
