Daddy time!

We had a great weekend even though it was so HOT, we had some good time outside to lay around and relax. Kaelyn really enjoyed her time with her daddy...and her dog!

Finally, Kaelyn fell asleep somewhere besides her crib so I could get a photo. But I didn't want to use a flash and wake her up and the shot came out a little blurry. I still think it's a really sweet picture of her and her daddy catching and extra few minutes in the morning!

Remington

We had a nice visit with Christina, Steve, and Remington. Since it was so HOT we hung out on a blanket in the shade. We had a nice time and you can see how Kaelyn is just loving it now that she can sit up for longer periods of time!

Hand me downs and bathtime!

We had a very hot weekend and it through us into a bit of a tailspin for bedtime. Kaelyn's room was over 80 degrees (the afternoon sun really heats it up) and she was quite uncomfy. We only had pajamas for cool weather on hand - with feet and long sleeves! While she was throwing a fit and I was in a panic, trying to decide whether to just let her sleep naked, I discovered this gown from my own childhood and thought maybe it would work (although I was walking when I wore it so I was at least 1 or so!). Thank goodness I had that in the closet cuz that's what she wore to bed. And the next morning she woke up SO happy in her cute little "mommy's old pjs"!

I finally remembered to get a good shot of her in her big girl tub. She's almost outgrown it now but still enjoys it! She likes to sit up now and is starting to splash around. So much fun! Bathtoys, here we come!

Playmate, sippy cups, and teething biscuits

Helen and I have been sharing babysitting time so we can both pursue work opportunities. It's worked out to be quite a good resource and probably good practice for the second addition we both will eventually consider adding to the family! In the meantime, Aiden and Kaelyn enjoy each other. They aren't of the age to play together yet, but they watch each other with deep interest. It's quite cute. Yesterday was a nice sunny afternoon and since Aiden had been a bit under the weather, I decided to keep them outside as much as possible. This meant the snack time had to be in outside chairs this week. This was Kaelyn's first use of the take-along high chair. Since Aiden is a pro, he showed her how it was done. They got on just fine and were such a cute pair together in their matching chairs! Aiden was especially happy that we were all sporting our outdoor hats!

I thought they were especially cute with their sippy cups!

On another note, after Kaelyn's positive experience with the snap pea, I decided to try teething biscuits. Technically, you're not supposed to give teething biscuits till they're about 9 months. But I decided they might be a good option for our upcoming long flight and maybe I should try them first. Well, Kaelyn LOVES the teething biscuit. And frankly, it buys me some time while I get her (and my) food ready with her in the high chair (she's generally quite demanding for her food once she's in the high chair!). But Helen and I decided the biscuit is quite messy and leaves a cement-like product on all bibs and shirts. I have decided I will bring them for the plane but only for an all out emergency. Otherwise we'll all be covered in teething biscuit cement, I'm sure!

Books, peas, and pouts

Everyone always comments on what a happy, smiley baby Kaelyn is...

So we thought we'd show you a picture of her pouty face!

Kingston get bored sometimes and seems to appreciate having a little around. He can't wait till she is on her own feet walking around and playing WITH him!

Surprisingly, Kaelyn grabbed a snap pea from my hands and put it in her mouth to chew on it. She enjoyed the pea for a good 3 minutes and I was quite impressed with her hand-eye-mouth coordination.

I handed Kaelyn a soft squishy book with family photos in it and to my surpise, she immediately held it like a book as if she were reading it and she even turned the pages.

The Pink Brigade

We had a fun visit with mommy's friend Tracy this week. Tracy is going to have a new baby "Bella" in July so this was the first time she and Kaelyn got to meet. We had a fun girlie visit - with lotsa pink to celebrate girl power.
