A great time with grandma and grandpa

Today we had to say goodbye to grandma and grandpa after a nice 3 week visit. I'm not sure who will miss them more - Kaelyn or us. It sure was nice to have extra hands on deck. We now know what it is like to have grandparents around. What a nice life. And Miss Kaelyn sure did get attached. She really had a great time with grandma and grandpa. All the extra attention and love! She will surely feel empty. Good thing we get to go visit them soon. Here is their "official" Christmas photo...

Here are a few things from the weeks they visited...

Kaelyn LOVES balloons. We get them whenever we go to the store. Grandpa had fun making her hair stand up one morning with the helium balloon!

Since grandpa has entered his official "retirement" years and we have run out of large house projects for him, we decided it was a good time to have him build a little kitchen just for Kaelyn. It was fun trying to make a kitchen that was "not from China." We are still having challenges finding US based products for the kitchen shelves! But it was a great time nonetheless and Miss Kaelyn now has a kitchen she will enjoy for years and years (and with which to make all the other kids jealous!). Thank you grandpa - you're the BEST!

We enjoyed a very quiet and relaxed Thanksgiving. It was just what we needed ;-)

Here is a short video that grandma took to show how Kaelyn is walking now. She really took off about a week ago and now prefers walking to crawling. Yay! No more dirty hands and knees!

A sneak peek at the Holiday Season Updates to come

We had grandma and grandpa help us out with some official holiday photos. This is just a sneak peak - we don't want to ruin the cards that everyone will be getting!
We will soon go visit Santa. We need to see if we can find a new Santa Buddy this year since Kaelyn's good friend Aiden just moved to Portland. Anyone? Anyone?
We will be updating the blog quite a bit this month as we experience all our fun holiday activities! Hope you enjoy your season as much as we hope to enjoy ours.

Aunt Nancy and the big vote

We forgot to post pictures of Kaelyn with Auntie Nancy who came to babysit while mommy was in charge of a big conference. They had SO much fun and it was great to see Nancy again. Too bad it was such a short visit...

Here is Kaelyn on voting day. They wouldn't allow pictures at the polls, but here's proof she got to go with mommy. I won't say who we voted for, but we are very excited to be part of such a special election year. And there IS hope that Kaelyn could one day be president
;-)
